HOW TO PAINT A GRAFFITI JACKET SUPPLIE & DETAILS

denim jacket
2
scotch packing tape
3
large tube of white acrylic paint for the base coats

wide paint brush
5
assorted paint markers

SHARPIE POSTER PAINT
DECO COLORS
ZIG
make sure you have a thin nib in white and black

exacto blade

book cover protector for stenciling
(or something to cut a stencil out with)
poster board, paper

spray paint
assorted colors

acrylic finish/ gloss/ semi gloss
spray
Instructions
Lesson 1
stuff jacket with  cardboard on back side, and pillow on button side. make it tight and firm.
Lesson 2
tape border areas of the jacket around frame.
Lesson 3
coat jacket with white acrylics 3 times
paint along the grooves of jacket not against them.
-1st time use half water (liquidy)
let dry
-2nd time less water (pastey)
let dry
-3rd time no water (thick)
let dry
Lesson 4
lay stencil material on top part of jacket
and draw your piece/ letters/ name
Lesson 5
take exacto blade and cut out letters, careful not to cut into jacket. and place stencil cut outs on side (do not dispose)
Lesson 6
pick 3 colors spray paint, and have fun. Don't spray too close. and work on blending colors.
Lesson 7
peel off stencil and let dry.
Lesson 8
place opposite stencil back on top of letters and pick background spray can colors and spray background. let dry. peel stencil material.
Lesson 9
pick paint marker colors for outline and details. outline your piece and add any colors and hookups you want.
Lesson 10
choose a character you want to put under the piece. Stencil a basic outline of it and lay it on the jacket. spray a white base and paint your character. use paint markers or acrylic/ brush
Lesson 11
add details to the background and sign the jacket
Lesson 12
take your finish, and lightly spray the can at a distance, let dry, and repeat several times, till you feel the jacket is properly protected.
Lesson 13
never wash your jacket in a washing machine or dry cleaners.
Soak the non painted parts of the jacket in a tub with soap and rinse by hand.
wipe the painting of the jacket lightly with a wet towel. and re finish the jacket every year to update the protection.
